Doi Suthep is definitely Chiang Mai’s most famous climb. Starting at the Chiang Mai Zoo at the edge of the city, this 11km climb offers amazing views over the whole city, and is with an average gradient of just below 6% not very steep. A cycling holiday to Chiang Mai is not complete without climbing up to the famous Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep at least once!

The temple is located at 1000m altitude and from there we will descend back into town. Before heading back to the hotel we will make a nice loop towards the Huay Tung Tao lake. A serene lake between the vibrant city, and Doi Suthep and Doi Pui national park. A relaxing loop of 5.5km around the lake is the reward for the long climb up to Doi Suthep before.
